Afternoon highlights

AFTERNOON DELIGHTS: Among the big winners this afternoon were Kanye West, who monopolized the Rap categories, including Best Album; EDM poster boy Skrillex, who snagged three megaphones; and DIY standard bearers The Civil Wars, who won Best Folk Album for Barton Hollow and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for the title track. Bon Iver got Best Alternative Album, and Justin Vernon was in the house to accept it, though he chose not to perform tonight. And it came as no surprise that Paul Epworth was named Producer of the Year, having helmed, among other tracks, “Rolling in the Deep.” Speaking of which, the favorite for Record and Song picked up an early win for Best Short Form Music Video, while 21 was named Best Pop Vocal Album.
