THE CIVIL WARS FROM HUNGER: MTV will premiere “Safe & Sound,” by Taylor Swift and two-time Grammy winners The Civil Wars, the first single from the highly anticipated film The Hunger Games, across its various TV and digital screens, including MTV, VH1 and CMT. The global partnership positions the video to reach more than 600 million households around the world via MTV’s global network of more than 60 channels and over 300 digital media properties in 150+ territories. The video debuts today during the MTV News special MTV First: Taylor Swift, and will also premieres simultaneously across MTV’s channels in Canada, Europe, Latin America, Australia, Asia and Africa. Swift will introduce the clip on-air before an exclusive interview with MTV News’ Sway Callaway. Produced by T Bone Burnett, the song will be featured in the companion album to the film, which opens March 23. The Cvil Wars just won two Grammy Awards for Best Folk Album and Best Country Duo or Group Performance for their acclaimed debut, Barton Hollow. (2/13p)
