DIRECTION HEADED UPWARDS: U.K. X Factor alums One Direction, repped by Modest Management, which includes ex-Sony Music exec Richard Griffiths, are the latest entry into HITS’ Vibe-Raters chart of the up and coming. The group’s hit, “What Makes You Beautiful,” from their upcoming Syco/Columbia album Up All Night, was just named Best British single at the Brit Awards, beating out Adele’s “Someone Like You” and The Wanted’s “Glad You Came,” among othes. The album drops on March 13 in the U.S., while the single is already getting huge Top 40 airplay, along with more than 56 milion online video views.
