Laura Kaumfan Passes

LAURA KAUFMAN, longtime veteran music publicist with more than 35 years in the business, has passed away. Kaufman spent the first 14 years working for the management firm of Leber-Krebs, then worked for the fabled music PR company Howard Bloom Agency. More recently, she spent eight years as VP Media Relations at CMC International (now part of Sanctuary Records). She has also operated her own Laura Kaufman Company for the past 30 years, which encompassed Laura Kaufman Public Relations, along with a management division and media consulting firm, handling the likes of Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Styx, Motorhead, Yngwie Malmsteen, Iron Maiden, The Scorpions, Judas Priest, Peter Frampton and Peter Criss, among others.
