THE GARYS CARRY ON: Dick and Elsa Gary, West Coast Co-Chairs of the T.J. Martell Foundation, are following up their inaugural art show Artworks for the Cure, the largest fundraiser of the 2011 on the left coast, with Artworks for the Cure 2012. It’ll be held on April 28-29 at Pier 59 Studios West at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica. The Garys are throwing a cocktail party and dinner on the 28th with a celebrity MC, live music and all the art on display for sale. Also at the dinner, they’ll present Spirit of Excellence awards to Nederlander Concerts CEO Alex Hodges, writer/producer Harvey Mason Jr. and health and wellness expert Jillian Michaels. Sponsorships are available from $1,000 to $30,000; tribute ads or listings for the honorees range from $250 to $2,500; dinner tickets are $500; and Sunday event tickets only $50. You can get a feeling for the art and the event at www.2012artworks.org. Props to Dick and Elsa for their big hearts and tireless efforts on behalf of a critically important cause. (3/12a)
