Weekend Box Office Rundown

MANNING UP IN SECOND WEEK: Screen Gems’ surprise hit Think Like a Man spent a second week on top of the weekend box office tally, as Marvel/Disney's The Avengers gets set to debut this Friday after breaking records world-wide. Think, based on the Steve Harvey book, took in another $18 million for a two-week total of $61 million (and $9k in per-theater average). Sony’s animated The Pirates! Band of Misfits finished #2 with $11 million (a paltry $3.4k average), while WB’s The Lucky One added another $11 million to its total for a two-week cume of close to $40 million (and $3.5k average). Lionsgate’s blockbuster The Hunger Games was #4, with a cumulative total of $373 million to date. Three more newcomers round out the list, with Universal’s The Five-Year Engagement notching a very disappointing $11 million, Liongate’s Safe $7.7m and Relativity Media’s The Raven $7.2m. (4/30a)
