JUMPING THE SHARK: Some observers believe Fox's American Idol may have just one more season after this one. But that could also be the case with The X Factor if Simon Cowell’s show doesn’t pick up in the ratings during season two, which should benefit from the addition of youth-skewing new judges Britney Spears and Demi Lovato. NBC's entry, The Voice, presently generating the strongest ratings of the three shows, appears to be solid for another couple of years. (5/17p)
