That dropped Sony’s MIB 3 to #2 with $29,300,000 (-46.3%) on 4,248 screens, while Disney’s The Avengers added another $20,273,000 (-44.7%) on 3,670 screens in its fifth week. Universal’s Battleship was #4 with $4,810,000 (-56.5%) in 3,144 theaters, and Paramount’s The Dictator rounded out the Top 5 with $4,725,000 (-49.1%) on 2,649 screens. As for films in limited release, Wes Anderson’s sublime Moonrise Kingdom (Focus Features) is gaining momentum, doing $849,000 (+62.3%, ) in just 16 theaters during its second weekend, good for #13 overall.
