SELTZER SPRITZED: Michael "2 Cents Plain" Seltzer is upped to SVP Business & Legal Affairs for UMG's East Coast Labels, including IDJ and Universal Republic Records, by EVP Steve “Good” Gawley “Miss Molly.” As part of his expanded duties, Seltzer will oversee the legal staffs from the two labels. He was previously at IDJ, where he handled a wide range of artist, label and new media negotiations, including deals for Jay-Z, Rihanna, Kanye West, Mariah Carey and Bon Jovi, as well as such heritage artists as Bob Marley and Johnny Cash. Prior to that, he served as COO for Chris Blackwell’s Palm Pictures/Rykodisc, and as VP of Business for Island Records. Seltzer began his career in entertainment law in 1990 as an attorney at PolyGram Records. (6/8p)
