ACTION AT ALLIANCE: Alliance Entertainment Corp. will release the Blu-ray/DVD of the feature documentary Big Easy Express, starring Mumford & Sons, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Old Crow Medicine Show as they travel on a vintage train for an eight-day tour, on July 24. The film, which will be preceded by an iTunes launch in 50 countries, won the headliner audience award at SXSW. Mike Davis’ company also has an exclusive distribution deal for the new album from Amanda Palmer, Theatre is Evil, slated for release Sept. 11, along with the other associated products (book, art, etc.) through its direct-to-fan Audiolife division. Palmer raised more than a million dollars through fan-sourcing site Kickstarter, the most ever for a music-based project, by pre-selling 25k albums. (6/26p)
