Skirball Goes "Into the Night"

HAVING A SKIRBALL: Looking for something different to do this Friday night? The Skirball Cultural Center, nestled on the Sepulveda Pass off the 405, is featuring its annual “Into the Night,” this time dubbed “Playtime,” featuring Dangerbird Records act Sea Wolf, a local indie fave of Buzz Band’s Kevin Bronson, and highly touted S.F. rock trio Geographer, named by SPIN magazine as “one of the three undiscovered bands you need to know now.” KCRW d.j. Anthony Valadez will spin in-between acts on the Skirball’s magnificent outdoor grounds, lit up suitably for the occasion. All concert-goers will enjoy after-dark access to all the museum galleries, including the new Project Mah Jongg exhibit and the world-renowned Noah’s Ark, open until 1 a.m.. There will also be screenings of Jacques Tati’s classic Playtime, hula-hoops, a museum-wide scavenger hunt, oversized Jenga and checkers and a host bar featuring exotic drinks like their signature “mahj-tinis.” Tickets are only $15 ($20 day of show), and it’s 21 and up. Go to www.skirball.org for more info. (7/11p)
