SONGS Music Publishing Duo Pens Owl City Hit
THEY WRITE THE SONGS: Credit SONGS Music Publishing for Owl City’s current Top 20 Top 40 hit, “Good Time,” featuring Carly Rae Jepsen. The pubbery’s writer/producers Matt Thiessen [Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Owl City’s “Fireflies”] and Brian Lee [Lady Gaga] penned the melodies and lyrics to the Owl City-produced track. SONGS A&R chief Ron Perry and Republic Records’ Imran Majid and Ben Adelson put together the sessions that produced the hit at the music publisher’s L.A.-based studios. Nice work. (7/23p)
