Frank Ocean to perform on VMAs, SNL season premiere

OCEAN WIDE: We now know that the season 38 premiere of Saturday Night Live will air on Sept. 15, but we don’t yet know who will host, nor do we yet know whether Jason Sudekis (who does a mean Mitt Romney) will return for his tenth year on the show. But we’re hearing that SNL has made the perfect choice for the fall season’s first musical guest: red-hot Grammy contender and Odd Future break out Frank Ocean, whose Def Jam/IDJ debut, channel ORANGE, has been the subject of critical adulation. He'll also be performing on the MTV VMAs Sept. 6. (8/27a)
