Bob Dylan "Duquesne Whistle" video

A MAN OF CONSTANT SURPRISES: VEVO will premiere the startling video for “Duquesne Whistle,” the first single from Bob Dylan’s Tempest (Columbia, 9/11), which is getting a rhapsodic early critical response. The clip, says Rollingstone.com, “initially seems like a Charlie Chaplin-inspired bit of light comedy about a young man trying to impress a woman he sees on the street. But after our hero gets thrown into a van and tied to a chair, things take a shockingly dark turn and the clip begins looking like a deleted scene from Goodfellas.” That’s not all the weirdness in the video, the third Dylan clip to be directed by Nash Edgerton, an accomplished stunt coordinator who worked on the Matrix movies and was Ewan McGregor's stunt double in the Star Wars prequels. “Duquesne Whistle” hasn’t yet officially appeared on VEVO, but it’s getting “exclusives” on Rollingstone.com and the U.K.’s Guardian, above.
