Klaiman, Republic on Fire

FEATS OF KLAIMAN: Republic promo maven Joel Klaiman, fresh from his ringside seat at the MTV Video Music Awards last week, is having a remarkable run at Top 40 radio, as he prepares to close on Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen (#9) Taylor Swift (#11), Nicki Minaj (#15), Alex Clare (#16), Enrique Iglesias (#28), Austin Mahone (#36) and PSY (#1 and #3 on iTunes video). Is getting all seven an unprecedented feat? The list includes established acts as well as three developing artists in Clare, Mahone and PSY. More impressive still is how they’re all over the map stylistically, and come from a variety of feeder labels and A&R sources set up by Monte Lipman as he grows the new Republic label.
