Castelaz to Atlantic

DANGERBIRD FLIES TO ATLANTIC: Look for Jeff Castelaz, who left L.A.-based indie Dangerbird Records last week along with label GM Matt Solodky, ostensibly to run his Cast Management company, to take a job at Atlantic Records, which recently lost a pair of execs in John Janick to IGA and Matt Galle to IDJ. The L.A. Times reports the label’s Fitz and the Tantrums could be leaving to join him. Castelaz, who co-founded Dangerbird with Peter Walker, also oversees the charitable organization Pablove Foundation, named after his late son Pablo. The boy succumbed to cancer in 2009, and the Foundation was set up by Castelaz to help fund pediatric cancer research. (9/17a)
