Foos Call it Quits...For Now

GROHL SAYS FAREWELL FOOS FOR NOW: Dave Grohl penned an open letter today saying the Foo Fighters are going on indefinite hiatus while he finishes work on his Sound City documentary film and album. “I can’t give up this band. And I never will. Because it’s not just a band to me. It’s my life. It’s my family. It’s my world,” he wrote, before adding, "I’m not sure when the Foo Fighters are going to play again. It feels strange to say that, but it’s a good thing for all of us to go away for a while… Sometimes it’s good to just…put it back in the garage.” If the band is over, it went out on top with an amazing performance at the Global Citizen Festival in New York’s Central Park last weekend, joining Neil Young and Crazy Horse for an explosive closing version of “Keep on Rockin’ in the Free World,” which you can see below. The entire show was carried live on Palladia. Also on hand: the Black Keys, K’naan and Band of Horses. (10/2p)
