Meredith Israel Thomas stops cancer treatment

FOR MEREDITH: “I want to die with dignity. I want to die being a blonde and being Meredith.” So writes former RCA publicity and marketing exec Meredith Israel Thomas on her blog, as she explains to her community of loved ones her decision to stop treatment for breast cancer and focus on pain management for whatever time she has left. The blog entry is a tough read, but we join a huge community of music people in saluting Meredith’s courage and her determination to tell her story from the outset. During her years at RCA, she worked with such acts as Dave Matthews Band and Kings of Leon, and there’s been a massive outpouring of support for her of late, including testimonials from Z100’s Elvis Duran (who named her his “Badass Chick of the Day”) and numerous artists; her story has been chronicled on TheHollywoodReporter.com and elsewhere.
