IT’S A MAN’S MAN’S MAN’S MOVIE: The life of James Brown is being made into a feature biopic, with Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer and rock star Mick Jagger joining as producers, and The Help’s Tate Taylor in negotiations to direct, according to deadline.com. The film will be a co-production between Imagine and Jagged Films, based on a screenplay by Jez Butterworth & John-Henry Butterworth. They will now look for distribution, and to find an actor who can play Brown. Grazer who has long tried to get the project off the ground, called the late performer “one of the most electric, exciting stage performers of all time." Said Jagger: “It’s a great honor to be involved with a project as rich as the story of the legendary James Brown. He was a mesmerizing performer with a fascinating life.” CAA is packaging the film and will represent its domestic distribution rights. (10/22p)
