Paull Joins Amazon from Sony Music

A DIGITAL DEFECTION: Sony Music EVP for its global digital business Michael Paull has left the company for Amazon, according to a report over the weekend on Peter Kafka's All Things D, adding the role will be a newly named post, VP of Content Acqusition and Business Development. Paull had been with Sony digital since 2008, occupying previous posts at Fox Entertainment, Sony Pictures, AOL Time Warner and other companies in either digital or business development roles. Amazon posted its first quarterly net loss in four years last week. The company launched a cloud-music service in March of this year without obtaining licenses from labels, but has since negotiated deals with the majors and other rights holders. (10/29a)
