PLAYING WITH THE BANDIER: The joining of Sony/ATV and EMI Music Publishing is already paying dividends under Marty Bandier. The U.K.’s Guy Moot is on a role, marking the company’s fourth consecutive week atop the U.K. singles charts with Labrinth f/Emeli Sande’s “Beneath You’re Beautiful” selling more than 100k in its debut at #1. The combined company controls 100% of the song, which is from the band’s debut #1 album, Electronic Earth, and is featured on the re-package of Emeli’s album, Our Version of Events. Last week, Calvin Harris topped the singles charts with “Sweet Nothing,” featuring Florence+ the Machine, following #1 debuts by Swedish House Mafia’s “Don’t You Worry Child” and Rihanna’s “Diamonds,” both Sony/ATV-EMI Music Publishing copyrights.
