Clear Channel Pacts with Naxos for Classical Station

CHANNELING MOZART: Following previous arrangements with the Big Machine and Glassnote labels, Clear Channel announced a pact with independent classical label Naxos Records to program a new station called Classica on iHeartRadio, their digital network. Unlike the deals with the other two companies, the Naxos agreement is only for digital play, with no corresponding royalty agreement for terrestrial radio play. Clear Channel boasts 850 stations—none of them classical. (10/30a)
