Coldplay, Jay-Z Ring in New Year

AULD LANG COLDPLAY/JAY-Z: Coldplay and Jay-Z will co-headline a special New Year’s Eve show at Brooklyn’s brand-new Barclays Center Dec. 31. That will be preceded by a pair of Coldplay concerts at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville,CT on Dec. 29 and their own Barclays Center show on Dec. 30, with supporting act Naturally 7 on both bills. Those year-end dates are Coldplay’s last remaining shows for 2012. Coldplay previously ushered in the New Year with their long-time hip-hop pal in 2010 in Las Vegas, while they performed together at last summer's Paralympic Games Closing Ceremony in London. These will be Coldplay’s first N.Y.C. shows since Sept. 2005. The band are set to release Live 2012, its new concert film and live album a week from today (Nov. 19). Can’t wait to see Beyonce and Gwyneth Paltrow usher in 2013 by dancing together. (11/12a)
