iTunes Album and Singles Chart

WHISTLE A HAPPY ITUNES: Syco/Columbia’s One Direction, whose sophomore album, Take Me Home, comes out today, occupies the top two slots on the iTunes chart this morning, with two editions of the new release. The U.K. teen phenoms set an iTunes record for most U.S. pre-orders with more than 130k. Republic Canadian R&B mixtape sensation The Weeknd’s Trilogy is strong, too, at #3, with Lana Del Rey, The Twilight Saga soundtrack, Christina Aguilera, Deftones, Soundgarden and Green Day among today's new releases in the Top 10. On the singles side, PSY remains dominant, with Rihanna’s smash, “Diamonds,” Adele’s monstrous “Skyfall,” Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven” and Ke$ha’s “Die Young” rounding out the Top 5, while The Lumineers’ “Ho Hey” continues to sell at #7.
