Microsoft Windows President Exits

JUMPING OUT THE WINDOW: Microsoft’s Windows unit president Steven Sinofsky is leaving the company, according to a report in Peter Kafka’s All ThingsD, less than a month after the launch of Windows 8 and the company’s Surface tablet, leading to speculation both may be underperforming in the marketplace. Sources have said the move came amid growing tension between Sinofsky and other top executives at the company. Some are likening the move to Apple’s recent ouster of OS X head Scott Forstall. The official word is the move was a “mutual decision.” (11/13a)
