EX-X: Epic chairman L.A. Reid won't be returning for season 3 of The X Factor, so he can "invest renewed energy and vigor into developing new and signed talent" at the label, according to a Hollywood Reporter item. The only member of the reality-competition tribunal to survive season one, Reid declared that he'll naturally miss the show but "I'm looking forward to getting back to my core business and the responsibility of running Epic Records." The show's ratings dipped by almost 25% among 18-49s in its sophomore season, the Reporter notes, adding that it's unclear if judges Britney Spears and Demi Lovato will re-up. (12/13p)
