Us: Britney to leave X Factor

BRIT TO BE X-ED?: "He wanted crazy Britney, but he got boring Britney." These words, attributed by Us Magazine to a source close to Simon Cowell, explain why the mag claims pop mega-siren Britney Spears will soon depart The X Factor. The various sources cited by Us agree Brit's on-camera conduct has been lackluster--and certainly not wild-and-crazy-reality-TV enough to justify her $15 million deal. The Fox series' second season ended 12/20; another X judge, Epic chief L.A. Reid, announced he was leaving on 12/13. Spears is nonetheless unlikely to disappear from the limelight anytime soon, especially as "Scream & Shout," the Will.i.am single on which she guests, is currently #4 at iTunes. (12/27p)
