THEORY OF EVOLUTION: Make way for L.A.’s first EDM station, as Clear Channel Media + Entertainment’s KIIS FM launches the HD Evolution on KIIS HD2 today. The outlet will feature “All Gone Pete Tong,” an exclusive two-hour daily show hosted by the famed DJ and tastemaker, with Pete’s Essential New Tune of the Week, as well as the hottest tracks from the global Top 100 chart on Beatport.com. The show joins an impressive lineup of popular and up-and-coming DJ hosts, including Diplo, Fatboy Slim, Dim Mak and Paul van Dyk, among others. The station’s programming will include special mixes and on-air interviews as well as exclusive content from Swedish House Mafia’s final tour in addition to their featured show with all-new mixes. “Dance music’s impact in L.A. can be seen through sold-out DJ performances, music downloads and passion for iHeartRadio’s new Evolution channel,” said Clear Channel KIIS PD and SVP Programming John Ivey. “L.A. is the perfect fit for Evolution’s programming because of its rich heritage in dance music. Glow sticks in the air everybody.” (2/8p)
