Grammy Ratings Second HIghest Since 1993

GRAMMY RATINGS DOWN, BUT NOT OUT: Not surprisingly, last night’s Grammy Awards telecast on CBS didn’t match last year’s total, but it still pulled in 28.12 million viewers, the second-best audience since 1993, topped only by 2012 which, featuring Adele and the death of Whitney Houston, earned its second-highest ever with 39.31 million viewers tuned in. Last night’s show earned a 15.8/24 share. Last year’s results were 50% better than 2011, which was the best the Grammys had done in a decade. The largest Grammy audience ever was in 1984, for Michael Jackson’s Thriller, with 43.8 million. Congrats to Neil Portnow, Ken Ehrlich and the entire Recording Academy team on a job well done.
