PLAQUE BUILDUP: That Album of the Year Grammy nom and an electrifying performance on the telecast (watch it again above) presumably factored into a second win for Jack White’s Blunderbuss (Third Man/Columbia), which the RIAA has just certified gold. White will be able to hang the plaque for his first solo album alongside the ones he picked up for The White Stripes’ White Blood Cells (2001, platinum), Elephant (2003, platinum) and Icky Thump (2007, gold).
