Harlem Shakes Label Sued

HARLEM SHAKEDOWN: Two performers who say their songs have been used in Baauer's dance sensation "Harlem Shake" are seeking compensation because their vocals have been used without permission. Hector Delgado and Jayson Musson claim their music is being used in the song, which has become a viral smash thanks to YouTube videos of people dancing to the song. Delgado’s “Maldades” and “Miller Time,” by Musson’s former rap group, Plastic Little, are said to be sampled in Baauer’s smash. Delgado and Musson insist they never gave Baauer (born Harry Bauer Rodriguez) permission to use their music. Both are seeking compensation from Diplo’s Mad Decent Records, which put out the single, since picked up by Warner Bros. (3/12a)
