ACMs Boast Strong Ratings

COUNTRY STRONG: CBS’ airing of last night’s 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards (see related story here) proved a ratings winner, even with strong competition, including the season six premiere of AMC’s Mad Men. The show garnered a 4.3/11 share, up almost 40% from last year, with its 15.4 million viewers up 17% from 2012. This was the first time the ACMs topped the Country Music Association Awards, long considered the top show in the genre. The CMAs received a 3.8 rating last November on ABC, racking up 13.7 million viewers. The ACMs also had the best results in the adults 18-49 demo since 2001 and its largest overall audience since 1998. (4/8p)
