Various Post headlines

POST TOASTED: The N.Y. Post business section is loaded with news we can use this morning. To wit: Sports and entertainment powerhouse IMG—which owns the rights to Wimbledon and reps the likes of Kate Upton and Novak Djokovic—is on the block, and the bidders include frontrunner Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, the Raine Group, LionTree Advisors and Providence Equity. The sale is also expected to draw interest from CAA and William Morris Endeavor, according to media reporter Claire Atkinson. IMG is expected to fetch between $2.5 billion and $3 billion… Guggenheim Partners boss Alan Schwartz is quietly shopping MSG’s Fuse network, several sources told Atkinson. While Guggenheim hasn’t officially been hired, Schwartz is having informal conversations with various parties interested in the music channel. Schwartz is a board member at MSG and is a friend of controlling shareholder Jim Dolan. But Fuse insiders deny there’s a sale process and insist that the network is looking for content partnerships... And Sirius XM has named Liberty Media CEO Greg Maffei Chairman following its January takeover by John Malone’s media company. Sirius also added Discovery Communications CEO David Zaslav and Malone’s son Evan to the board. Yup, that’s the same Greg Maffei who has oversight over Live Nation for Malone, who becomes a significant player in the music space with these two virtual monopolies. Insiders say look for Maffei to try and become a high-profile player in the music sector—and those last two bits are us talking, not the Post. (4/11a)
