March Arbitrons

MARCH ARBITRONS: KIIS-FM edged ahead of KBIG to take sole possession of first place in L.A. radio last month, rising from 5.4% to 5.8%, while KBIG was up slightly as well to 5.5%. KOST (103.5) stayed at #3, but slid to 4.6% from 4.8% in March. KAMP (97.1) went 4.1% to 4.3% to take fourth place, while KFI, the top-rated AM station, rounded out the Top 5, though it dipped from 4.6% to 4.2%. In morning drive, Ryan Seacrest and Ellen K came out on top, going 5.4% to 5.7%, knocking KFI (5.8% to 5.5%) out of the top spot. As the L.A. Times notes, this was only the fifth time in more than four years that KFI failed to top the morning ratings. As recently as November, KFI led KIIS in morning drive by 7.5% to 5.1%, boosted by campaign coverage. KROQ stalwarts Kevin & Bean rose from 4.9% to 5% to tie KBIG’s Sean Valentine for #3. (4/16a)
