SET YOUR TIVOS: In Performance at the White House: The Memphis Sound airs tonight at 8 p.m. on PBS. The event, taped last week, features performances by native sons (and daughter) Sam Moore, William Bell, Mavis Staples, Steve Cropper, Eddie Floyd and Justin Timberlake, as well as Alabama Shakes, Queen Latifah, Cyndi Lauper, Ben Harper, Charlie Musselwhite and former Idol contestant Joshua Ledet, with Booker T. Jones serving as musical director. “Tonight, I’m speaking not just as President but as one of America’s best-known Al Green impersonators,” Obama quipped during his opening remarks, which came after a walk to the lectern to Booker T. and the MGs’ “Green Onions.” “I just want everybody to know that it is now my second term. So rather than ‘Hail to the Chief,’ we’re going with that from here on out.” Green had to cancel at the last minute after injuring his back. (4/16a)
