Rush dominated R&RHOF event

HOLY SHEET! Last night’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the Nokia Theatre, for which tickets were sold to the public, found itself absorbed into a massive celebration for you know who. The geeked-out, colors-sporting hordes went crazy every time their heroes’ name was uttered, and when the real thing finally appeared, following a band of impersonators—actually three of the Foo Fighters, who more closely resembled Spinal Tap—the venue took on the feel of a gigantic cult gathering. One pair of fans kept unfurling a white sheet on which they’d painstakingly composed their message to the world, and as people left the theater after midnight, they were greeted by the sight of that same sheet spread out across the L.A. Live courtyard, pictured above. More to come on the big night—stay tuned. (4/19a)
