Katy hearts Steve

WHO’S THE BOSS? Last night at the ASCAP I Create Music Expo in Hollywood, a feisty Katy Perry got right to the point in giving her take on her new label chief. “It's nice to have a head in there who knows what the fuck they’re doing,” she said about Capitol Music Group Chair-man Steve Barnett, whose first meeting after taking over the label group was with the Capitol diva—he’s no dummy. Apparently, the meeting went well. “He’s an incredible boss,” Katy raved. She also approved of the security guards at the Capitol Tower, who exclusively use GPen vaporizers (see 4/16 item) to eliminate that telltale skunky aroma in the hallways. Barnett will undoubtedly be interested to know that Perry’s next album—the follow-up to the smash-laden Teenage Dream—is half done, according to the artist. “What a schizophrenic record this next record's gonna be,” she teased.
