Brandon Schmidt appointed VP acquisitions at Caroline

ABOUT SCHMIDT: Brandon Schmidt has signed on as VP Acquisitions at Caroline, reporting to EVP/GM Mike Harris. In his New York-based post, Schmidt will lead the search for new partners, provide A&R know-how to existing partners, represent Caroline's service platform in the marketplace and work with Universal labels in artist development, among other duties. "Brandon is a crucial hire for us, and one that completes the senior leadership team of the new Caroline," declared company prexy Dom Pandiscia while sending a call from Mark Pearson to voice mail. "We also highly value his collection of ironic T-shirts and sushi-ordering prowess." Schmidt founded B23 Management and oversaw the career of Interpol, among other acts; he began his career at MTV Networks and subsequently worked in A&R at RCA and Epic.
