Rock on the Range

ROUND ON THE ENDS, HIGH IN THE MIDDLE: Last weekend's three-day music fest Rock on the Range was sold out, selling 105k tickets. The seventh mounting of the Columbus, OH, event--featuring Soundgarden, Bush, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, Cheap Trick, Korn, Stone Sour, Papa Roach and others--saw attendees from 49 states and three countries cramming into Crew Stadium for some amplified mayhem. "The crowd was spectacular," proclaimed Bush singer Gavin Rossdale. "I want them at every show we do." Remarked a UMPG staffer in attendance, "Dude, where's my car?" (5/22p)
