ISLAND IN THE SUN: …and when we think Caribbean cruises, we think Weezer. The former major-label band has announced the “hand-selected” talent lineup for the second edition of The Weezer Cruise: Rivers Cuomo and his merry mates will be joined by Ash, Bleached, Caveman, DIIV, Holy F*ck, Ozma, Palma Violets, The Cribs, The Orwells, The Relationship and Toro y Moi, along with comic Adam Devine (Workaholics). “Once we locked in all these great artists I started to feel Weezer is real lucky to be able to go on this cruise,” said Rivers in the press release. “Sharing the boat with them and all of our fans is going to be so much fun.” Weezer will perform three sets during the cruise, including what’s billed as a “Beach Concert with Weezer” on their own private island (off of Nassau’s coast). Joining Weezer for the special concert on the sand will be none other than Cat Power (an inspired choice).
