HE'S BAAAAAAAAAACK: Informed sources tell us that Steve Rifkind, who broke acts such as the Wu Tang Clan, Mobb Deep and Akon, among many others, as founder/chief exec of SRC Records and Loud Records, has struck a new deal with Lucian Grainge's UMG. He'll helm a pop label, Awesomeness, and an urban label dubbed A.D.D.; both of these will be able to release records through any label in the Universal system—we hear it'll be much like the arrangement boutique-label heads such as Scooter Braun enjoy. Look for the press release on this development sometime next week. Whether Steve will also set up exclusive marketing campaigns through local barbershops remains to be determined. (6/19p)
