KOL OKC benefit details

BECAUSE OF THE TIMES: The Kings of Leon's Rock for Oklahoma: A Benefit Concert for Oklahoma Tornado Victims is set for July 23. The show, which will take place at OKC’s Chesapeake Energy Arena, home of the Thunder, will also feature hometown boys The Flaming Lips, Jackson Browne and Built to Spill, with Grace Potter and Ben Kweller making guest appearances. Additionally, in a KOL-style wrinkle, there will be a silent auction to win a meet-and-greet with Victoria's Secret Angels Lily Aldridge and Erin Heatherton. "Oklahoma's been a really huge part of our lives," Jared Followill told the AP. "We just have so many roots there and so many friends. A lot…of people that are close to us were affected in one way or another, so I think it's just really important for us to do this and give pretty much all we can." The band, which is nearing the end of a European tour, will release their sixth album, Mechanical Bull, on RCA Sept. 24. We like them. A lot. (7/9a)
