TRIAL UPDATE: After the plaintiffs’ legal team concluded its arguments with two days of testimony from Katherine Jackson, lead defense attorney Marvin Putnam called AEG Live exec John Meglen as his first witness yesterday. During his testimony, Meglen told the court AEG offered the administrators of the Michael Jackson estate a guaranteed $60 million deal to stage a high-concept Las Vegas show after MJ’s death. The offer, he said, was was prompted by the news that Cirque du Soleil was talking to the Jacksons about a similar project, which became is now playing to packed houses at Mandalay Bay.
