iTUNES CHARTS: The Civil Wars flag remains firmly planted on top of the album chart on this Friday morning, as we expected, but there’s been some intriguing movement immediately below the sensibility/Columbia chart-topper. The pre-order for Republic’s Ariana Grande has climbed to #3, just below the Roc-solid Jay Z and immediately above the Luke Bryan pre-order, which continues to gain steam leading up to the release of the hatless superstar’s eagerly awaited LP, streeting (if that hoary term still applies in the digital age) next Tuesday via Capitol Nashville. And take a gander Hollywood’s Teen Beach OST, which is behaving like High School Musical as it surges back to #5, while UMe’s Now 47 settles in at #7. Meanwhile, the voracious hordes are snapping up Drake’s brand new single, on Young Money/Cash Money/Republic, the latest challenger to Robin Thicke’s gargantuan “Blurred Lines” (on Star Trak/Interscope, for those of you keeping score), while the rest of the leaderboard is filled with big hits. Speaking of big hits, we’re fresh out of ammo for our GPen—gotta give a yell to our connect at UMPG. (8/9a)
