SO ... THAT HAPPENED: Glassnote's PoMo kids Phoenix have created a remix of their "Trying to Be Cool" with special guest R. Kelly. Don't believe us? Check out the artwork. The band and Kelly will announce the new version tomorrow; the collaboration follows their appearance together at Coachella (when they jointly put an arty spin on Kelly's "Ignition"). The French alt-rockers are massive Kelly fans who claim to listen to his work before their gigs. Fans on Facebook, Pitchfork and elsewhere are geeking out on the news, and we're pretty stoked to hear this one ourselves. Stand by. (8/13p)
