Songs used during NFL opener

NAME THAT TUNE: It always drives us crazy when we hear a snippet of a song going into a commercial or over a replay during a football game on TV, and last night’s NFL season opener on NBC was no exception—until we opened Shazam on our iPhone and discovered that the app was keeping a running list of music used on the telecast, complete with a show logo. Among the tracks played in miniature were Atlas Genius’ “If So,” Bush’s “Baby Come Home,” Puddle of Mudd’s cover of the Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter,” Republica’s “Ready to Go,” Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September,” the obligatory “Get Lucky” riff and, of course, Joe Walsh’s “Rocky Mountain Way” (the game was in Denver). Additionally, that Beck-like bouncy riff played under Verizon’s commercials is Cayucas’ “High School Lover.” Keith Urban performed on the field in the pregame, and Voice winner Danielle Bradbury sang the National Anthem quite capably.
