Closing arguments

TRIAL UPDATE: In his closing argument on Tuesday, Jackson family lead attorney Brian Panish hammered home the central point that AEG Live hired Dr. Conrad Murray and thus is culpable in Michael Jackson’s death. "No Murray, no AEG, no propofol, Michael's still here," he said, according to the L.A. Times. Panish also once again questioned the credibility of Randy Phillips and Paul Gongaware, stating, "They made a legal strategy not to remember anything when they testified under oath. They're not credible or worthy of belief." He also finally attached a dollar value on the damages the family is seeking: personal damages of $85 million to each of Jackson's three children and $35 million to Katherine. The economic damages, he said, should reflect the determination of an expert witness who testified that MJ would’ve earned $1.2 billion to $1.6 billion if he’d lived. "We're not looking for sympathy," Panish said. "We're looking for justice, full and complete." Now it’s the defense’s turn. The case is expected to be in the jury’s hands by the end of the week.
