Cue promotes setup streaming on iTunes Radio

STEALTH SETUP STREAMING: In the U.K. last week, Apple and Sony Music teamed up to try something new, streaming Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2 via iTunes Radio rather than direct from the iTunes Store page (as was done here in the States). In London this week for the iTunes Festival, Eddy Cue called the gambit “a huge improvement” over the standard method of pre-release exposure. “Hopefully, lots of people will be listening to iTunes Radio a lot,” he told Music Week. "From a discovery perspective it’s significantly better. I think when you go to a store and you go to the Justin Timberlake page and stream it from there, that’s great, but that means you went to the store. iTunes Radio lets you discover it without you having to think about it.” Cue also used the “c” word, explaining that, by employing a “custom curation” approach, “We thought we could bring something that customers would love more than any other service out there. and that’s what we want to do," he said.
