Silverlake Conservatory

HIPSTER BEARD NOT REQUIRED: Performances by Neil Young and The Red Hot Chili Peppers will highlight a benefit for L.A.'s Silverlake Conservatory of Music on 10/30, sponsored by Warner Bros. Records, Myman Greenspan Fineman Fox Rosenberg Light, Q Prime, John Silva and others. Chilis bassist Flea is a co-founder and key patron of the nonprofit music-education center. In addition to the music and a dinner, the event will feature a silent auction with art by Cecily Brown, Ed Ruscha, Robert Williams, Damien Hirst, Raymond Pettibon, Shepard Fairey, Gary Leonard and many more; auction donors include Chili Pepper Chad Smith, Jimmy Choo, Marc Jacobs, Saturday Night Live, Tony Hawk, Pearl Jam, the Killers and the Strokes. Doors for the event are at 5:30pm, immediately following Eric Greenspan's tuba lesson. (10/3p)
