Top 10 tracks

TOP 10 TRACKS: As Americans, we always pull for the underdog, and we’ve got a whopper of a ’dog for you this week. A Great Big World—a pair of former NYU Violets, btw—clearly made the most of their 11/5 Voice performance of “Say Something” with big fan Christina Aguilera, as the song generated a nuclear reaction from fans, making the Epic single a totally unanticipated chart-topper—with the further distinction of knocking mighty Lorde out of the top spot. OneRepublic (+16%) and Interscope labelmates Imagine Dragons (+12) also had good weeks, scoring with tracks that have been around for months, while Pitbull has another fast-reacting hit, this time with Ke$ha in tow, with a 43% jump into the Top 10 in its fifth week of release.

TV power was evident just below the big board as well: A CMAs spike propelled six current Country tracks into the Top 25, and Voice contestant James Wolpert’s cover of Joni Mitchell’s “A Case of You” bowed at #19 with nearly 71k. (11/14a)
